Join the School District of Jefferson, a recipient of the CEP’s State and National School (District) of Character Award, as its next Superintendent. The District, which encompasses an area of 94 square miles, serves an enrollment of 1,900 students (grades 4K-12) and employs 147 teachers, 105 support staff, and 10 administrators. The annual budget is $26.6 million. District facilities include three elementary schools and a state-of-the-art middle school and high school. Start date: July 1, 2013.
The District is committed to the development of challenging and engaging standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Our six-year curriculum cycle has been carefully tailored to assure regular review and updating of K-12 course offerings. Systematic staff development activities provide staff with a variety of opportunities for dialogue with colleagues, K-12 curriculum alignment, curriculum writing, technology training, and professional growth.
Students with exceptional talents have their needs addressed through the district's Challenge Program. Students with disabilities and exceptional education needs are provided with a full continuum of special education and related services. Specialists provide diagnostic and remedial services in reading at all levels as well as regular instruction in art, music, and physical education for elementary students. The district offers a full range of special programming for students with limited-English skills.
The School District of Jefferson is a member of the Jefferson Eastern Dane Interactive (JEDI) Network which provides opportunities for advanced and expanded coursework over a distance-learning network. In addition, the District receives services and support from CESA 2.

Education, training, experience:
